Title: New part of town
Review: A buddy and I were directed to Kemo Sabe by the hotel. We were visiting San Diego and not for the first time. We never made it to this part of time prior to this visit. The starters were excellent and well presented. The three dishes we shared were so well presented and were superb. For a great dinning experience and to experience of a new part of town, this was a great evening.

Title: Friday night
Review: The hotel made a strong recommendation for this restaurant. We made reservations for Friday night. The weather was nice enough to be seated outside. We ordered soups for starters. The lentil soup was outstanding. I had the clam chowder. It was ordinary at best. We had salads and the best was the blood salad with oranges. We wanted to order scallops but they were out. We have the lobster ravs and lobster with risotto. Again, these dishes were ordinary. To make the dining experience lackluster our waitress left us to take other tables. After waiting a waiter finally came and explained the current situation. We were not impressed. After reading such great reviews, we were greatly disappointed in the entire experience.

Title: Candelas on the Bay
Review:

We've lived in Chula Vista for about ten years and have enjoyed many of the fine resturaunts in and around the San Diego area. For our twentieth wedding anniversary I was looking for a special restaurant for the occassion. While doing some research online I came across this site, and, impressed but a bit overwhelmed by all the choices available, I asked for some suggestions through the site's free Group and Events Services.

Many thanks to Jessica, who offered several excellent choices perfectly tailored to my requirements. I decided on Candelas on the Bay. I'd never been to Candelas before and while I was passingly familiar with the Ferry Landing area on Corondado, I could not recall ever seeing this restaurant. I called the restaurant and talked with a very pleasant young lady who helped me with directions and parking, and who agreed to care for a vase of roses I later brought by on the day of our reservation. The restaurant does not gaurantee special seating, but as the ... Full Review

Title: stellar cuisine and service
Review: My hotel concierge ranted and raved about a restaurant called "Currant". I inquired as to the type of food and she retorted that it was an American Brasserie: American with a French flair. I indulged her suggestion and was not dissapointed. I began with their signature dish- the Moules Frites...local steamed mussels in a lovely wine broth, heaped with a crispy stack of herby thyme fries. The fries soaked up all the goodness nad made me a happy lad. I followed the dish with the duck cassoulet- a masterfully executed confit of duck over canneloni beans and a lamb "crepinelle"- a house made lamb sausage. The saltiness of the duck was in perfect harmony with the beans and the crepinelle gave the perfect earthy flavor. I inquired as to who the chef was, and my server (who was quite professional, yet warm) told me that the sous chef was heading up the kitchen that night. The sous chef (as I came to find out through my server) was a graduate of the California Cullinary Ass ... Full Review

Title: Thank you, Ms. Duffy,
Review: I wish I could write as good as you. Your review convinced my husband and me to try Firenze Trattoria and we've been going there every month ever since. It has to be our favorite Italian restaurant in all of San Diego. Everything we've eaten there has been excellent and notably fresh -- the salads, the soups, even the fish, which they cook with remarkable accuracy. Firenze's wine-by-the-glass program must have be what earned them the Wine Spectator award because each course can be matched perfectly and that makes the dining experience so elegant -- everything just fits right. The only addition I could make to Ms. Duffy's insightful review is that, in all of our visits, the noise level has never gotten as high as "medium" -- it's always been romantically low-key, just like their friendly service.
