Most Devine

The food was excellent. We had a huge selection to choose from. Quick and friendly service.

Best Day Ever

I really enjoyed my meal from start to finish. I enjoyed the sampler appetizer plate, cesar salad, my favorite of them all was the all meat platter wirh the ribs, chicke, and etc. that is one of my favorite. I recommend everyone to try that once, maybe twice. thank you claim jumper for making my day.

Great For The Price

The food was really good. There are better places to eat, but they tend to cost more. I really liked the rustic atmosphere.

ALWAYS A GOOD CHOICE

I have always enjoyed Claim Jumper no matter which location I have visited. At work, we often have luncheons there and the food is just as good as the dinners. The portions are huge no matter what you order. Love their steaks or just about any other dish they serve. Their desserts are outstanding. I have never been disappointed with a meal at a Claim Jumper. You get a lot for your money. We have found it a better choice and value than the high priced (over priced) resturants in the Gas Lamp District that try to charge La Jolla prices without the view and often without the quality.

What happened to the salad bar?!`

Overall their food is good. I was disappointed that their salad bar was taken out due making more room for diners. :( I always looked forward to the fresh salad bar. :( Sorry to see it go.

The wait is worth the food

I have been to Claim Jumper many times, and every time I left full and satified! The only downside is the long wait, but that is normal at many great steakhouses. Juat walk around grossmont center while waiting, they give you a pager. This is my favorite steakhouse

Good Stuff

I Have been to Claim Jumper many times and once again they always leave me wanting to come back for more. Their meals always have me leaving with a box of left overs and they have great drink prices. Their seating was a little clustered and service was a little slow but the food was excellent with good prices on food. Should go again soon.

FUNNY

I think this place is funny, with all the big Fred Flintstone ribs and slabs-o-meat. I liked some of the western artifacts they had in there. Much better that you'd expect from looking on the outside.

Casual dining at its best

We celebrated my folks 64th wedding anniversary at Claim Jumpers. Dad and I split the 16 oz prime rib dinner. Our wives had chicken and pasta. Food was excellent, portions were generous, price was reasonable and SERVICE WAS SUPERIOR. The complementary Oreo cookie ice-cream cake with two candles was a sweet touch.

My Fav

I love this restaurant. I choose it every time I have a birthday or other special event. My husband offers to take me to " A nicer steak house" but this is where I like to go. I love the Porter house, the Stuffed Baked potato with chicken and of course the Motherload cake. We celebrated my daughters High School Graduation at Claim Jumpers, Birthdays, and just plain romantic dinners. The service can some times be slow if it is busy, but if there is ever a problem the manager is right there even if you did not ask for them to come over.

Great food, excellent selection

I'll make this easy Pros: great food selection. good taste. excellent selection of beer (tap, bottled) Cons: Foods are made to order but they usually sit there for some time before being served. The pork baby back ribs (the most popular item) can be excellent on some days while tough and chewy and not "fall off the bone" on the other days. Okay/average service. Overall: I have been dining here for over 7 years as I am sorry to admit that quality and freshness have declined. However, the food is nonetheless, very good, especially if you are craving homestyle/traditional American cooking. You should definitely dine here though, at least as an experience. Don't be afraid to try the non-traditional food such as the pear and gorgonzola pizza. Regardless of what you order, be ready to take half of the food home; you get a lot of food. Don't be scared to share.

Carrot Cake

The carrot cake is to die for! Now, instead of birthday presents, I give out the carrot cake from Claim Jumpers and people absolutely love it.

Disappointed

My husband and I went to Claim Jumper today and ordered our usual: Apple Glazed Chicken. We thought we were ordering our usual...tenderized chicken breast on a bed of apple glazed stuffing covered in apple glazed sauce, mashed potatoes covered in gravy and fresh vegetables. Instead, we were given a piece of rotissere chicken with a little apple glaze sauce thrown over it like it was an afterthought, dry mashed potatoes, and fresh vegetables...no stuffing. I can't believe Corporate had the nerve to change the menu like that AND charge 15.99 with a straight face. Evidentally there have been corporate changes made to the menu, so beware. The waitress and staff were really nice, but I don't know if we will go there again.
