Trattoria La Strada - Restaurant Review
La Strada’s prime location at the crossing of Fifth Avenue and G Street makes it a place to see and be seen, with patio dining and walls of windows facing the hippest corner in the Gaslamp. A warm interior suggestive of an Italian villa extends to an open kitchen where Master Chef Roberto Bernardoni prepares the Tuscan specialties that put La Strada in the top ten of Italian restaurants in the U.S. Add to that an excellent selection of Italian wines, moderate prices, and an enthusiastic staff, and it’s easy to see why La Strada is booked daily.

Gaslamp Strip Club
Address: 340 Fifth Avenue, San Diego, CA 92101
The Gaslamp Strip Club is named after the restaurant's signature "strip steak." The 21-and over steakhouse offers an old-school supper club setting, complete with curved leather booths, dim lighting, and a central grill around which guests crowd to cook their own steaks. Grill options include a range of premium steaks and kabobs, as well as poultry, seafood, and vegetarian options. An extensive cocktail selection, late night hours, and a casual vibe amid artwork by the famous "pin up" artist Alberto Vargas makes the Gaslamp Strip Club an ideal destination not only for a meal but for an entire evening.

Cafe Japengo
Address: 8960 University Center Lane, La Jolla, CA 92122
While hidden from the road in the La Jolla UTC area, Cafe Japengo should not be missed. The upscale restaurant offers what is consistently dubbed the best sushi in San Diego as well as inventive Pacific Rim Cuisine. Executive Chef Jay Payne excels in crafting fresh, often exotic ingredients in innovative ways, with tantalizing dishes that almost threaten to overshadow the sushi. However, with Sushi Chef Jerry Warner’s 17-year tenure, and unrivaled creativity, the fresh, inspired sushi offerings more than hold their own. Guests looking for an especially unique experience should sit at the sushi bar, where Chef Warner crafts custom-made offerings not on the menu.
