Title: Flemings's La Jolla - Review: We have been there twice for the filet and lobster tail dinner which included salad, potato or vegetable and desert for $99.00 for two. The best steak we have ever had and we our in our 70's. Great service too. C.T.

Title: What happened? - Review: It has been a while since my last visit to Flemings; but the memories were of very good food and large portions. Well, neither are true now. A medium rare filet was served blood red rare. After being sent back, it returned in the same condition. I would never recommend this place: It is too loud, service is casual to non-existant, food is better at a Sizzler! The most amazing thing was that there was a line out the door waiting to be seated! Are we that confused as consumers?

Title: COMPANY PARTY TYPE ATMOSPHERE - Review: THIS IS MORE OF A COMPANY PARTY TYPE OF PLACE. FOOD IS REASONABLE, SERVICE IS FAIR, ATMOSPHERE IS COMMON, PRICES ARE REASONABLE. NOT A PLACE THAT WOULD READLIY COME TO MIND FOR A NIGHT OUT, THOUGH.

Title: Not great - Review: My husband and I recently moved down from Orange County, where Flemings in Newport was our favorite restaurant for many years. We tried the venue in La Jolla and were not impressed. The service was terrible, and the food was just "pretty good". Not good enough to justify the prices. We've since tried the downtown location and had a much better dining experience.

Title: We love it! - Review: We eat out most of the time, traveling all over the world every month or two. Flemings is always one of our regular favorites. We love the valet parking, cozy and romantic tall booths, ambience, and excellent service as well as the great food and extensive and well organized wine by the glass menu. My favorite steak is Beef Flemington, which is a filet in puff pastry. When you are a frequent guest the hostess desk knows you and always gets you in, even on a busy night. The place always has a "beautiful people" buzz to it which I find invigorating.

Title: Steakhouse?? - Review: Fleming's has let me down once again. I have gone in the past and enjoyed great beef, the last 3 times I have gone the beef has been below average. If you are in the mood for a good piece of steak... don't go here. The reason I give it a 1 is because our waiter was excellent.

Title: Disappointing - Review: Fleming's Steakhouse demonstrates that it is possible to eat things in a prime steakhouse that are not well prepared. The executive chef shocks the taste buds by broiling choice cuts of prime beef in a 1600 F incinerator -- the meat screams "Ponderosa Steakhouse". Patrons are suffered with substandard table service (eg. napkins would have been nice and a wine stained tablecloth was not), dim lighting, and uncomfortable seating, all at a premium price. Alas, the signature restaurant cries for a gifted steak chef whose culinary skills can turn around what could otherwise be a successful restaurant. Frankly, I have cooked steaks of more enjoyable flavor on my home gas grill. The current chef applies meticulous all-night-diner techniques to the steakhouse genre to produce a "run-of-the-mill steak". The restaurant was nearly full with guests noisily digging into food variations. Cost does not equate to quality food preparation as evidenced with my $29 ribeye steak. Add smallis ... Full Review

Title: Service could not have been worse! - Review: We had to wait 55 minutes for a table even after making a reservation a week and a half in advance. We saw several waiters/waitresses seat their friends or their favorite customers before us and other people who had been waiting to get seated for a very long time. When we asked why we had to wait for long, they did not offer any apologies and they said they were busy and we will be seated when there's an opening. We left and went to another restaurant who were glad to serve a customer (what a concept!) I urge people to stay away from this restaurant. Visit Ruth's Chris or The Marine Room instead if you are looking for fine dining and great service.

Title: Very disappointed - Review: My husband and I just love Donovan's, but we heard that Flemings also had wonderful service and great steaks. Both of our steaks were undercooked. We were told that there was a special dessert that took 12 minutes to prepare, so we would be asked if we wanted it before the end of our meal. No one came back until the meal was over. But that was okay, because we really wanted the creme brulee. Unfortunately, it was served chilled and was too grainy to eat. Don't pass up Donovan's to eat at Flemings...lesson learned.

Title: Toooooo spicy - Review: The service was very good, the onion soup was delicious, but the remainder of the meal was ruined with too much spice. You loose the flavor of the meat due to too much pepper - and the peppers on top of the creamed corn - I almost died.
