no reservations

Restaurant fine, but unable to make reservations on-line or by phone. They put you on some kind of "list" if you call in advance.

Great food for every age and salary.

Great place! The lighting is very flattering for any date! They also have a great variety of food for anyone's tastebuds. My personal faves happen to be vegetarian lettuce wraps, crab won tons, and lemon pepper shrimp. Because they are so popular it can get busy-so on a hoppin' friday night it's great to get your name down with the hostess then go see a quick movie (an epic wouldn't be the best idea). It's well worth the wait!

Very good - The UTC one

The UTC one is very good, be it taste of food or service. Somehow my experience at Fashion valley has never been good. The service is bad and the food is not that tasty. Last time I had gone to Fashion valley and got eggplant, it was not well cooked. The manager was couteous enough not to charge us for that, but I would recommend the UTC one. And don't forget to try their delicious chicken lettuce wraps..

Wow

I was really impressed with P.F. Chang. Reservations are easy to make and won't get lost. I recommend patio seating, weather permitting. The menu was short but had many tempting choices. I love the duck. It's a little pricey but the restaurant was clean, stylish, and trendy.

EXCELLENT

The food is so so good! Great prices! Great hot teas! But the line is going to be long! Prepare to wait an hour. But it is worth the wait.

Worth 6 hour plane ride

I live in NC, I come to SD to visit my brother twice to three times a year. My first place to eat is P.F. Chang's. It has the best food and service of anywhere in NC! I would fly 3000 miles just to eat 1 meal here!

Amazing Chinese Food

P.F. Changs is a restaurant my husband and I visit everytime we are on vacation near one! We live in Canada and do not have one nearby. the lettuce wraps cannot be passed up! They are incredible and so healthy! The lettuce is always crisp and fresh! I also love the honey chicken. I haven't eaten anything that wasn't of the highest quality and never received anything other than superb service!

Date night P.F. Chang's

Great food, great atmosphere and the service is good. I was especially impressed by the cheesecake for desert, a perfect conclusion to an excellent experience.

P.F. Chang’s is my sure bet restaurant. If I have family coming over or want to take people out to dinner and have no clue what type of food they like I always go to P.F. Chang’s because everybody simply loves it. Great food and reasonable prices, you can't beat that!

Delicious Chinese Food...

The Food is litterally excellent, but the service needs a lift up.

chang's is a shame

I've been to both PF changs in Vegas and I thought it was mediocre then. But after eating here in San Diego, I will never go to PF chang's unless a group of people go and I can not convince them to drive a little farther to Clairemont where you can eat real chinese, viet, and other asian food, and where the cooks are actually ASIAN!! When it comes down to it, the parking is very bad because it is at the fashion mall, and it was a disgrace to serve dry, old, white rice. If they can not cook rice good, then they are in trouble.

a truthful review

personally i like authentic cuisine and with that said, p.f. changs is not authentic chinese...it really isn't chinese...it's american...there's no brocolli with beef or general tzao's chicken whether it be northern or southern chinese cuisine... with that said...is the food objectively good? not really...i've been there 4 times each trying to figure out why there is always such a long line or why the prices are so steep...every dish is dry and way to saucy...sauces shouldn't mask the true flavors of the ingredients but rather enhance those flavors...but that's my personal opinion as many san diegans probably can't handle the texture and ingrediences of dishes served up in say clairemont...service is great though... but i just thought i'd finish by saying...if somebody's willing to fly 3000 miles to get chinese food...they might want to think about flying to hongkong or shanghai...or save some money and fly up to san francisco...

2 hour wait

We were recently there on a Saturday night with a toddler. They quoted us a wait of 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours. They wouldn't give us a pager until we've waited an hour. When we saw others getting a pager right away, we asked for one and they said, are you going to stick around, we said yes, so we got a pager. Another 45 minutes have passed by and we're seeing a lot of empty tables inside and out in the patio. We check in with them to see how much longer the wait would be, they said you checked in at 7:25, you quota is up at 9:25. The make you wait the entire 2 hours even though there's tables available. I will NEVER go to this P.F. Chang's ever again. It's in the Fashion Valley district where all the chi chi stores are, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, and you saw nothing but people dressed like they're celebrities. Please.

Ripped me off twice

It happend twice. both times I ate at P.F. Changs in Mission Valley (lunch) I paid with my credit card. I put the tip on the tip line and the full amount on the total line. When I got my online statement it showed that the tip was doubled. It's like they added the tip twice. The first time I didn't call or say anything because I thought it was just a mistake, and for $3 I let it go. Well it happened again the other day. I just looked at my online statment and again they added the tip twice. So I called this time. The manager was really rude and said he would credit my card for the $3. I told him that it was the second time and he just said that he couldn't do anything for the first time only this time. My point is, he didn't apologize or offer a coupon for a free appetizer, nothing. So I asked him about it and he just said, "I told you I will credit your account for $3". The managers name was Mike and I called 7/23/09 at 6:45 pm. The more I thought about the conversation the more I got upset, so I just called him back and told him that I wanted the full tip reversed. $6. The bill was for $19.38 and I originally put $3 for the tip. It should have been $22.28 total. But they charged $25.38 on my statement. I think a 15% tip is good for a lunch meal, but when they jack it up to 30% without permission, it causes bad customer service. Mike was pretty rude also the second time I called. I told him that I was going to school and learning about ethics and that experience was not good for his business. He still did not offer an apology or any type of reconsiliation other than just reversing the money on my card. I am almost afraid that he will tamper with my charge card. I just wanted to let people know so you will check your statments after you use your credit card here. I'm sure that for $3 here and $4 there, it can add up for who ever is doing this, but the customer will not notice or will notice and just excuse it because it was such a minimal amount. By the way,I like the food but not the bad business ethics.

Eh, it could've been better..

I'm not going to go into complete details, but PF Chang's was a bit mediocre. The menu's overpriced, the food is somewhat bland, and the amount of food they serve in your plate is insufficient when you're sharing with friends. I doubt I will ever recommend this place to anyone.

Not even Asian

As a newcomer to San Diego I was desperately looking for some authentic Chinese Food after a week. Read about PF Chang's and decided to give it a try. Totally disappointed, ordered 2 dishes which I thought would be fool proof, Ma Po Tou Foo and Honey Chicken and I was flabbergasted. I didn't know how to describe the food that came out. It wasn't Asian much less Chinese as the name China Bistro suggests. The food court outlets serve more genuine Chinese food. Even the rice was stale, plain steamed white rice... For those looking for authentic Chinese, stay away from this place. If you are just looking to fill your hunger in a dark, cosy but noisy atmosphere, with strange tasting food, then consider this.

Awful !!!

The place was way too crowded...this was for weekday lunch. The wait was long,The food was tasteless and dried out, and we had a rude waitress. It was a get 'em in, get 'em out atmosphere.I will never eat there again! P.S... If you have any shellfood allergies stay away! It was like pulling teeth to get them to tell us EVERYTHING is made with oyster sauce, and to get them to prepare it without it.It was the worst!
