      At home in the outback.

My husband and I joined some friends for dinner this past week at Bondi's in the Gaslamp. We were very excited to find a restaraunt with unique decor, amazing food and a throughly enjoyable staff. From the moment we arrive, Amanda, treated us as if we were family coming for dinner to her personal home. She took the time to share her favorite meals with us, educate us on the unique design of the bar/restaraunt and share with us funny stories of her home country, Australia. I am personally not a beer lover, but the beer she recommended was crisp, flavorful and (most of all) extremely cold. Our group chooses meals to share and we honestly could not pick a favorite among the selections we chose. I would highly recommend this restaraunt for its food, beverage, ambiance and management staff! It was honestly one of the best dining experiences I have had in San Diego!!!

      Lamb Conniseur

Having never heard of Bondi before walking past it last week I was a little more than skeptical of the culinary capabilities of the place. As someone who considers himself in the know on all things happening in the San Diego food scene I was a little bit weary about it seeing as how I hadn't heard any buzz yet. As I soon found out, it has been open for sometime and following the recommendation of the hostess I decided to sit outside on the patio and give it a shot. I was by myself but there was a fairly good crows for a wednesday night and the patio had a very relaxed feel. I have a passion for lamb and when I found out that the rack of lamb was raised locally I couldn't pass it up. I also ordered prawn salad to start. The salad was light and crisp and the prawns were fresh which was a nice compliment to the sparkling ale beer I had ordered. Next up was the lamb. San Diego's restaurant scene is not regarded as very lamb friendly in my book so you will understand my dismay when I say that this was one of the best lamb dishes I have ever tasted. The cutlets were grilled to perfection. The meat was high quality and the presentation was sensational. The greens that accompanied the salad provided a nice change of pace to the dish and it was just the right amount of food. I have since been back on 2 different occassions and each time the results are the same. Definitely worth the trip if you are looking for a great meal.
