    the music is the problem

I come to Hamburger Marys appr; every five years. I love san diego, love to eat, love hillcrest, and love hamburgers. For me the food is not the problem. I come for a hamburger and that's what I get; No more; no less. What's more, the quality is not bad, at all. However the music IS FAR TO LOUD. I think I am not the first one to complain about this. Is the staff of HM deaf because apparently they cannot turn down the volume. Pls; let us eat in peace and give us the oppertunity to talk: Thank you; Roger Vanhouwe; BELGIUM

Depends on what you're there for....

We often find ourselves back at Hamburger Mary's because it is a fun place to get together with friends. The food is always very tastey, I have enjoyed everything I have ordered. The service is horrible though, we have problems almost everytime we go. They really need to hire a more experienced service staff. My only other complaint is how loud it is, you have to practically scream to be heard, the volume could definitely be turned down a few notches. Besides the service and volume problems, Hamburger Mary's is really fun, open-minded, and serves a great burger with options for everyone.

    OK for Happy Hour

The staff is friendly, the music loud, the bar packed and the drinks cold. All one could really ask for a happy hour - but the food is nothing to write home about!

    NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS

Hey there all resraurant goers and drinkers, Hamburger Mary's is in fact a place of business but not a place of customer service. If you want negative attitude, inconsistant drink prices, no seating, and nasty food, come to Mary's in Hillcrest, where you can recieve it all before last call. Who wants to eat at a place that looses money every month on food.

    The reviews are correct!

I cannot believe the attitude and horrible service you get when you go to Hamburger Marys of San Diego. I have been to many Hamburger Marys around the country, and none have the attitude that this place does. The way it comes across is "we know we are the only place like this, so we don't care." If you go to different bartenders, you will get different prices on your drinks, so do shop around for the best deal. Also, if you don't know the guy at the front door, it will take you forever to get a table, he will sit his friends before you. I have complained numerous times to the management (which according to them, is everyone) and nothing gets done. Sad part is, yes, they are the only place around with that kind of atmospher, so you are stuck.

    I think the name changed.

    I think the name changed.
