Pricey, but is a great impressive first date...
First off, I like the aura & atmosphere of Ole Madrid. The lighting is very complimentary as well as romantic. There is a live salsa dancing club with free lessons at 830pm on WEDNESDAYS in the bar/lounge. I had the Combo Paella and my friend had the Salmon, I thought both was extremely well prepared--yes, the dishes are on the pricier side, but like I said, can make for a very impressive first date, or special occasion dinner. They have upstairs/downstairs and patio dining as well.
Thumbs Down
My husband and I waited approximately 20 minutes before having to flag someone down for service. We were sitting outside quite close to the hostess/entry so there was no reason why our waitress couldn't see us. My husband had observed that three other parties that were seated after us got service before us. After receiving our appetizer we had to flag someone down again for plates. The main entrees arrived but unfortunately after eating through one of the entrees I found a strand of hair in my food. We notified the restaurant manager of our displeasure through our hotel concierge and the only gesture offered by the restaurant manager was a meal certificate. You have got to be kidding!
worst dining experince
I couldn't believe how horrible my experience was at Ole Madrid. We had reservations and were seated 45 minutes after we arrived. We were told there would be live dancing and there wasn't.The food was horrible the service was worse. The salad lacked freshness and flavor. They were out of many dishes on the menu. I took the servers suggestion and went with one of the most popular dishes. I took one bite of my food and literally left the restaurant. It was disgusting. Don't be fooled by the medicore decor or the prime downtown location. This definitely tops the charts as the worst dining experiences.
