Go at the right time
I've been to Ra a couple of times. If you are looking for a crowded club type bar atmosphere go on a Friday or Saturday night. Be prepared for service to be slow. I also went on a Thursday night, around 6:30. It was great! The wait wasn't long at all, and the appetisers, certain sushi rolls, and drinks were so cheap with the happy hour menu! (Goes till 7) The food was great! I will only go back during the week during happy hour just based on less waiting time, and the awesome prices!
SLOW
My worst restaurant experience was at Ra Sushi San Diego. Great food....the WORLD'S worst service and S..l...o...w..... There was a convention in town but they hadn't prepared or just didint' want to prepare for many people. There were tables open but what? Not enough servers working??? We had to wait over an hour they told us before a table would be ready. SO we went to the bar and had some cocktails.. Hour later, still not ready. There were lots of empty tables. The night was early still. In another 1/2 hour we finally got seated. The waitress, a blonde girl extremely rude, came immediately and asked for our drink orders and gave us time to read the menu. She didnt' come back for over 1/2 hour. FINALLY we got her to come over and we ordered. It took forever for the food to get there. Went through the same thing for dessert. Then we had to practically twist someone's arm to get our check. We complained but the manager didnt' see the problem. TOO bad, because their food was pretty good, for once!
