Vigilucci's - Encinitas

I have been nowhere that felt and tasted more like being IN Italy then Vigilucci's! In a word; Bella!

I love this place, I go there for practically every event I have, and spend as much money as I possibly can. For all the young kids that go to vigiluccis and are mistrided tryiong dressing apropriate and you will see your service will change, it's a nice restaurant, and it doesn't matter if you have the money or not, you need to respect and have the intelligence to dress appropriate for the place, otherwise you deserve to sit outside and be kicked out as fast as possible, I wear very expensive clothing and jewelry and my husband wears the best suits available, I don't want to be sited with people wearing jeans, go to jack in the box!! I have always been treated really really well, and the food is AMAZING, just like my parents and grand parents from Italy used to make. Service is even better!!!!!!!!

My husband and I celebrate every special occasion at Vigilucci's in Encinitas. The service is excellent as is the food. We also enjoy the wine there very much. It's our favorite Italian restaurant!

It was only the 2nd time I'd been to Vigilucci's & I thoroughtly enjoyed both visits, the serveive this last time wasn't as good or prompt as the 1st time, but the food & atmosphere certainly make up for it :). My date & I had the prime rib & sirloin steak, both of which were amazing, they were cooked perfectly & the taste seem to burst in our mouths. Then for dessert, we shared the triple chocholate & rasberry mouse & the soft chocolate mouse cake...WOW, absolutely wonderful!!!, niether were too rich or heavy after our meal. Overall, I would recommend Vigilucci's to everyone, especially, for a special date. I will definately be returning there :)

MAKE RESERVATIONS!!! Gosh, that was my mistake...although it was cold outside we were able to still enjoy dinner there "outside" because we did not have reservations. Again, because I'm young (20's) with a party of 4...the sever treated us like children. Regardless of how we dress; trust me I have enough to spend. We ordered the best meals, and it came out cold. Then the server was slow on filling our drinks and on top of that...he didn't even ask if we wanted desserts. He not once, even offered bread or even ask how our meal was...is this the kind of restaurant I'd want to spend my money again? Hell no! Anyhow....you decided, just make your reservations! lol.

My husband and I just had our 6th or so dinner at Vigilucci's in Encinitas, and enjoyed it very much! The service was very good, and the food (especially the special seafood dinner in brandy sauce) was verrrry tasty!! We are only in San Diego 2 or 3 times a year, and we always try to get there because of the atmosphere and food! The staff has always provided good to excellent service.

Great food, esp the vodka sauce, good service from guys with sexy accents. BUT...dont sit outside, the traffic is NOISY

After hearing that the food here was good, we decided to give it a try. The only table available was outside and I said "OK, as long as we don't get forgotten out here...". Which, as you can guess, is exactly what happened. I had to ask for my iced tea 3 times! I could see our waiter inside chatting away with another customer which made me even angrier. I certainly don't think the quality of the food compensated for the inadequate service and I will never be back. There is so much better to choose from out there...

I stopped by and ordered a glass of house chardonnay to enjoy and see if this is somewhere I wanted to come to again. What I got was a premium wine because they did not have house wine and they did this without telling me. The reason I know is the cost was double what I normally pay at other Vigilucci restaurant I visit. Also, I was tax for the wine but at other Vigulucci restaurant they do not tax. When I inquired about this wine selection by them, I was offered a good response but as the customer I should have made the selection not them.

Rude behavior by waitstaff and bartenders. While we tried to enjoy a fine meal the waitstaff "played baseball" with another "frequent patron," using a wine bottle and hitting corks around the restaurant. The manager looked on and asked us what we expected him to do, since they were some of his best customers. For the ambiance this behavior was completely out of line. And for allowing it to continue and allowing his staff to encourage it, the manager lost these customers. Too bad, it was one of our favs and we didn't mind the drive from Del Mar.
