Miguel's Cocina

This is the original Miguel's, opened in Coronado in June 1982. Located in the courtyard of the historic El Cordova Hotel, directly across the street from the world-famous Hotel Del Coronado, this restaurant features authentic Mexican cuisine in a lovely heated patio setting and is one of our most popular restaurants. This island favorite is focused around hospitality to its customers as well as great food and drinks as well. They're most known for their "white sauce"-- a special jalapeno sauce that makes Miguel's a staple of Mexican cuisine. Open for brunch, lunch, and dinner, Miguel's features patio dining, happy hours, and take-out services for all of their guests. Stop in to try some of their signature starters, margaritas, entrees, or desserts. They strive to leave your belly full of flavor and warmth.

One of the Best Mexican Restaurants

I have never been a big fan of Mexican food. But I always have thoroughly enjoyed dining at Miguel's. When I worked in Coronado it was always a pleasure to have lunch there. Anything on the menu is good. I always enjoyed the Chicken Ceasar Salad, the best I have had anywhere. A little challenging to find, but always worth it. Go early, it's always packed. Never had a bad meal.

Great dining experience

We live in the San Diego area and have eaten at Miguel's Cocina several times. We have eaten at both their Coronado and Shelter Island locations. The food is the same at both but we far prefer the Coronado one because of the ambiance. The food is great, service is good, and the price is very reasonable. Try their great cheese fondue dip. It comes for for free with the free chips and salsa.

Great Service

This restaurant has a great service and good food. The only problem is the wait, so give them a call and make a reservation.

Good Stuff...

I've been here three times with three different dates (yeah, can't seem to land one). Every time the food has been great. The service is good. The drinks are a bit pricey. I like to go walking over to the Hotel Del Coronado after eating. I'd highly suggest this place for someone out of town. The wait can be long, so be prepared.

A great little place

We were on Coronado staying at the Del. Our last evening there we walked across Orange to Miguel's. We did not have to wait. Even tho it was a very chilly evening we were able eat on the heated patio comfortably. We enjoyed the evening. It was worth wandering back through the courtyard to find Miguels. Food was restaurant-Mexican. Fish taco was not what we expected, but tasty. A good meal for the price.

no...

This place charges $5 for a bottle of "cheap" beer? I don't care if it's on Coronado. The food & service is good, but two beers cost more than my food. Also, there is always a wait, but don't worry, you can drink a bottle of $5 Corona while you wait.... HEY MIGUEL'S, GOT GREED?
