Originally based in Hillcrest, the Gaslamp Quarter’s very own Monsoon serves up traditional Northern Indian cuisine in an elegant space designed to entice the taste buds and imagination, alike. Chef Jagu Singh – along with the brother and sister team responsible for Masala and Bombay, Rakesh and Ashley Popat – constructs dishes meant to please all palates by allowing diners to choose between meat and vegetarian dishes. Specialties include a wide variety of Tandoori-style plates, chicken and lamb curries, and fresh seafood dishes. Traditional baked and fried breads, chutneys, and relishes also grace the menu.

Chef Emelio Bertoli’s delectable Northern Italian cuisine ranges from delightful treats, such as homemade paperdelle with a wild boar ragu, to reliable favorites, such as risotto di frutti di mare, a rich risotto with clams, mussels, shrimp and calamari.
